(New): Commencement of Laos Project: CWARS is set to launch its first International Project in late October 2007. The project is expected to be a duplicate of the Cambodia project that has been successfully implemented in Cambodia. A delegate group of senior management of CWARS has visited Laos PDR to research the logistics and arrange the groundwork needed for the upcoming Need Assessment Survey. This phase is needed before the implementation of Direct Assistance can be put in place. The survey is expected to be conducted for a period of six months.

VISIT FROM RMIT CHIROPRACTIC STUDENTS

In July 2008, CWARS hosted a group of final year Chiropractic students who had come to Cambodia to offer treatment to CWARS students at the Battambang Vocational Training Centre.

The group examined and treated over 50 students in the few days spent in Battambang, gaining invaluable experience and giving the students some much needed care. Due to the injuries sustained by the CWARS students, most were suffering from some sort of back or neck pain that they had put up with for many years. The CWARS students and staff were extremely greatful for the chance to recieve such specialised care, and hoped future visits from RMIT groups were possible. The Chiropractic students were also extremely greatful for the hospitality shown by CWARS staff, and for the oppertunity to treat cases not likely to be seen again in their clinics back home.

A big thankyou must go to Mr Sam Oern Pok and the CWARS staff for allowing the students from RMIT this wanderful oppertunity, and to Dr Navine Haworth and Dr Ben Tipper for organising the students from Australia to come and help the CWARS graduates.
